Who knew that Jägermeister could be used in delicious cocktails instead of shots… that one friend always orders and forces you to drink? Even your most hipster friends will enjoy these cocktails despite them not being made with Fernet-Branca. For your enjoyment we have three different cocktails: a basil lemon Jägeroni (a play on a Negroni), a whisky Jäger Sour (a take on a whisky sour), and a brunch/lunch/dinner cocktail with tequila!
Basil Lemon Jägeroni
Ingredients:
5 Basil leaves
Lemon zest
1oz Gin
1oz Campari
1oz Jägermeister
Directions:
In a mixing glass, muddle the basil leaves and lemon zest. Add the gin, Campari, and Jägermeister, and gently muddle again. Add ice and stir. Fine strain into a rocks glass. Add a large ice cube or sphere and garnish with a lemon wheel/twist and basil leaf.
Jäger Whisky Sour
Ingredients:
3 Slices Fresh Jalapeno
3/4oz Lime Juice
3/4oz Honey Simple Syrup
4 Dashes Angostura Bitters
1oz Rye
1oz Jägermeister
1 Egg White
Dash of cinnamon
Directions:
Taste the jalapeno to check the level of spice and add according to your tolerance level. Muddle jalapeno and add your egg white. Then add the rest of the ingredients (except cinnamon) and give a vigorous dry shake (without ice). Then add ice and shake vigorously and fine strain into a rocks glass with ice, or a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wheel and toasted cinnamon. Toast cinnamon by sprinkling the cinnamon over a small flame onto the egg white foam.
